How many times?

How many times can I be expected to be forgiven by God for messing up? When asked, Jesus said we are to forgive 70 times 7. I am told that if we ask, God will forgive us. In this walk of mine with Jesus, I'm closer to him than I was before. However, I'm still a far from him.

I started reading books on Courtship and found myself wanting to be closer to Jesus than ever. I have been praying more than ever. I read his word daily and spend time with him alone daily. But I want an even closer relationship with him. In reading these books, I have found references to a Godly woman, wife and mother. The scripture references in there are ones I am familiar with but don't always practice. Why would I expect my boys to grow up to be Godly men when I feel like I'm failing in being a Godly woman? The answer for me is this....I have not arrived there yet. That will happen the day I go to heaven. I'm a work in progress. I am closer to Jesus than I was before and I have a better handle on my temper with God's help than before. So when it gets the best of me before I can ask for God's help with a situation, I can and do go before my Lord, ask to be forgiven and ask for the help I need to not do that again. Then I go to the boys and ask them to forgive me.

The lessons learned are learned by both the boys and me. I love my boys, my husband and my Lord!
